How We are Different
When you start seeing a licensed therapist, their task is to listen to everything wrong with you, abstract it, diagnose the problem, and then collaborate on positive steps to solving that problem. This is a long and arduous process that definitely has value. Here at structure, we skip the initial abstraction and focused and immediate concrete steps to move you forward. We define your goal, then decompose it (break it down), and initiate steps directed at making progress toward that goal during the session. The session is designed to establish a decomposed goal with a reasonable expectation of success, which in turn creates motivation to continue with further improvement. Because our focus is so narrow, we specialize in the fundamental areas at the intersection of physical and mental health, diet and sleep. We can also help in goal setting and behavioral modification for concrete goals.
